Webinar: How to be a Pilgrim in the Holy Land

Uppdaterad:

In this webinar, Rodney Aist will discuss the dynamics, traditions, and challenges of Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Why do Christians travel to Jerusalem, and what are some "best practices" of visiting the Holy Land?

The webinar will discuss the importance of engaging both the sacred places of the Christian faith and the Living Stones (local residents) of the land. The webinar will include discussions on definitions, images, and theories of pilgrimage as a transformational practice of the Christian life. What do pilgrims bring to the Holy Land, and, more importantly, what do they take home?

Rodney Aist is the course director of St George’s College, Jerusalem and a scholar of Jerusalem pilgrimage, past and present. He is the author of Jerusalem Bound: How to be a Pilgrim in the Holy Land (2020), Pilgrim Spirituality: Defining Pilgrimage Again for the First Time (2022), and Walking the Jerusalem Circuit: In the Footsteps of Pilgrim before the Crusades (2025). He is an ordained United Methodist clergy.

Moderator for this webinar will be Nina Palm our former director at the Swedish Christian Study Centre.
