Join us in Umeå for Spark - Human Rights Film Festival 2026 – Through the Paradox of Tolerance!
Over three days, the festival brings together film, conversations and workshops to explore some of the most pressing questions facing democracy today. What does tolerance mean in a polarised society? How can we protect freedom of expression, strengthen democratic resilience and create space for different perspectives?
The programme invites audiences to watch, listen, reflect and take part in discussions on human rights, journalism, civic courage, solidarity and the role we all play in sustaining democracy. With a particular focus on young people, the festival creates a meeting place for the public, schools, civil society, academia and the cultural sector.
